EtherCAT – 實時以太網(wǎng)現(xiàn)場總線
近年來，對生產(chǎn)設(shè)備通訊系統(tǒng)的需求越來越大。在過去，使用的差不多都是各種不同的總線，而這些總線現(xiàn)在都被簡單、功能更為強(qiáng)大的系統(tǒng)所取代：EtherCAT。EtherCAT 以以太網(wǎng)為基礎(chǔ)，是機(jī)器的核心部分。例如，所有設(shè)備的總線周期時間，無論是否分配給 PLC 或 CNC，都是在毫秒范圍內(nèi)。這表示，任何有關(guān)性能、確定性、同步性及傳統(tǒng)總線系統(tǒng)的拓?fù)浣Y(jié)構(gòu)方面的限制都已成為過去。設(shè)計時間大大縮短，的本地智能控制組件由簡單的輸入/輸出所取代，系統(tǒng)能夠根據(jù)需要擴(kuò)展，幾乎沒有限制，也不會降低性能。另外一個好處就是，大多數(shù)情況下，以太網(wǎng)已用于主控計算機(jī)的連接或機(jī)器聯(lián)網(wǎng)層面。

概要：無論是那種機(jī)器類型需要進(jìn)行自動化改造，控制硬件都是由工業(yè) PC、EtherCAT（作為高性能總線系統(tǒng)）、本地 I/O 和驅(qū)動器 – 其它一切都映射在軟件中。
